FDI Moot is the most famous moot court in the field of investment arbitration. Each year approximately 100 teams from all around the world participate in this contest. The FDI Moot is organized since 2008 by the Center for International Legal Studies (CILS) in Salzburg, Suffolk University Law School, Pepperdine University Law School, the German Institute of Arbitration (DIS), and the Centre for European Law at King’s College London.
During the competition, students play the role of lawyers representing the investor and the state in a dispute before an international arbitration tribunal acting on the basis of an agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments (BIT).
This year’s edition of the FDI was held online.
