Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition: The long-awaited finale and the results!

Well, after several months of hard preparation and struggle, the winner is announced – the Harvard  University (USA) is the 2022 Jessup World Champion! The Harvard Law team comprised of J.D. students Marta Canneri ’22, Katherine Shen ’22, Stephanie Gullo ’22, Nanami Hirata ’23 and Hannah Sweeney ’24, and coached by LL.M. student Shayan Khan LL.M. ’22, competed against the Singapore Management University (Singapore). Besides, congrats to Marta Canneri (Harvard) for being named the Best Oralist in the Championship Round!

Also Jessup 2022 White & Case International Round Oralist Rankings for top 200 speakers from the Preliminary Rounds and top 100 speakers from the Advanced Rounds are now available on the official website. 

In 2014, the HLS won the U.S. Northeast Regional round, with J.D. team members Melissa Chastang ’14, Max Rosen ’15, Dean Rosenberg ’15, and Phil Underwood ’14, coached by Afroditi Giovanopoulou S.J.D. ’19 of Greece and James Grace LL.M. ’14 of Canada.

It is of interest to note that in 1967 (in the pre-international era from 1960 to 1967) the Harvard University became the Runner up of the Competition competing against the Champion – the Vanderbilt University
