The Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition released the hypothetical case for the 2022. The case titled Climate Change and Human Rights: Impacts, Responsibilities, and Opportunities was written by Astrid Puentes Riaño, former co-executive director of the Inter-American Association for Environmental Defense (AIDA), and reflects a cutting-edge legal issue currently being debated in the region.
Registration for the 2022 Competition closes on March 11, 2022.The oral round sessions will take place over the last week of May.
The Competition is a unique trilingual (English, Portuguese, and Spanish) event established to train law students on how to use the Inter-American human rights legal system as a legitimate forum for redressing human rights violations. All student team members must be enrolled in a Juris Doctor (JD) degree program or its international equivalent to participate as a team.
