The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, in partnership with the Václav Havel Library and the Charta 77 Foundation, has announced a call for applications for the 2022 Václav Havel Human Rights Prize.
The deadline for submitting nominations is 30 April 2022. The Award Ceremony will take place in the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, on 10 October.
The winner will get €60,000, a trophy and a diploma.
Both individuals and non-governmental institutions active in the defence of human rights can be nominated for the Prize. Nominations should be submitted in either of the two official languages of the Council of Europe, English or French.
The Prize was created in 2013 to award outstanding actions of representatives of civil society for protection of human rights in Europe and beyond.
