The registration for the Competition has already finished, but everyone participating in the Telders Law Moot Court should keep in mind the time schedule of the competition. As you know, this year’s case concerns the compensation due from the exploded M2M Satellite’s Space Debris.
The moot problem concerns intertwined questions of international space law, international environmental law and international human rights law.
The 45th edition of the Telders Moot Competition will take place online from 6 to 10 June 2022. There will be no National Rounds, and this means that more teams from one country will be able to participate.
So, the 2022 Time Schedule is as follows:
- Monday 14 March 2022: Deadline for the Applicant and Respondent Memorials; Submission of Nominations for the International Board of Review.
- Monday 9 May 2022: Deadline for returning the Team Information Forms.
- Monday 16 May 2022: Mailing of the Opponent Memorials to the Team Contact.
- Sunday 5 June 2022: Online Opening Ceremony.
- Monday 6 June to Friday 10 June 2022: Online Semi-Finals.
- Saturday 11 June 2022: Online Final Round.
We wish good luck to all participants!
The Telders International Law Moot Court Competition has been held each year since 1977. Now it is organized by a team under the direction of the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies at Campus The Hague of Leiden University. Since its humble beginnings in 1977, when only four universities took part, the Competition has today become the most prestigious and important moot court competition in international law in Europe. The active involvement of judges from the real International Court of Justice, the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal, lawyers and professors of law guarantee the high intellectual standards of the Competition and its prestige. The final round of the Competition is traditionally held at the Peace Palace in The Hague.
