About
The aim of the Mediate Wise Competition is for students to learn and develop skills in a realistic situation, acting as both counsel and as a mediator. Problems are based on cases where the Convention on International Sale of Goods applies.
Each school’s team consists of three participants and a coach. All members of the team must be enrolled in a programme of tertiary legal studies and none may be licensed to practice law in any jurisdiction. The competition consists of four “tiers”; a training course, the counsel competition and the mediator competition. Each team participates in all tiers, and competes for both awards, one as Best Student Mediation Counsel Team and one as Best Student Mediator. Students take turns being evaluated and playing the roles of the disputing parties
